Coach Leao has coached the highly ranked Brazilian male and female indoor and beach volleyball teams to medals in the Olympic Games, Goodwill Games and Sundry World Championships. Leao was responsible for devising and implementing the methodology of Brazilian beach volleyball training that is now adopted worldwide.

Specific highlights of Leao’s career:

• In 1997 in Los Angeles, CA, was champion of the World Championship winning American team Canyon Ceman / Mike Whitmarsh.
• In 1998 in Central Park, NY, was champion of the Summer Goodwill Games winning American team Karch Kiraly / Adam Johnson.
• In 2000 Olympic Games being the best placement in the history of Japanese beach volleyball, and was recognized by the FIVB for his contribution in the development of beach volleyball in the world.  

Formerly Angela Lobendahn, she played at New Mexico State, where she was a two-time all-Sun Belt Conference selection. She left the school sixth all-time in kills and her junior season she had the second-highest single season kill total in NMSU history.

Peterson also coached at UVU (2002-2004), Pleasant Grove High School (2016-present), and was a director and coach at club Vinaka (2016-2022).
